About Amy
Hello! I’m Amy (or Dr Amy McKernan, if you want to be formal about it). I’m an editor and writer with expertise in education, inclusion, trauma, and research integrity. I offer proofreading, copyediting, and substantive editing services to academic and educational authors and research higher degree students. I also work as an academic writing coach for students and early career academics looking to develop their writing for examination or publication.

I offer proofreading, copyediting, and structural/substantive editing services for educational institutions, academics, students, and other businesses. I am an experienced editor journal articles, reports, books, and other academic and educational texts.

I offer thesis editing and formatting services in line with the IPEd's (the Institute for Professional Editors) Guidelines for Editing Research Theses. I work mostly with students using APA7 but I am also familiar with Chicago (author-date and notes/bibliography). To inquire about thesis editing, please submit the form on my contact page.

I work with early career academics to develop writing skills for academic publications and theses. I help clients work through writing blocks, understand the processes of academic publishing, and hone their academic expression and referencing skills.
